Body psychology provides a framework for exploring how systems of oppression impact the relationship we have with our bodies. How we feel about ourselves in addition to the daily stress of living under the system can manifest in the body as stress, tension, and physical pain. After reading My Grandmothers Hands By Resmaa Menakem, I’m now in a 9 month process with him to fully embody and deepen my understanding of this work within the context of race.
